Weapons Intelligence Team (WIT) Training
HMS delivers the most comprehensive weapons intelligence team (WIT) training
programme in the world. Our course is US government and NATO approved and has been undertaken by all WIT investigators currently on active duty in high-threat theatres. The programme expansively develops the skills of EOD operatives or investigators to enable them to proficiently examine post-IED incident scenes.
The WIT investigator's role is to collect, collate, assess and disseminate information on enemy weapon capabilities. Weapons intelligence teams deliver, from the incident's location, accurate, complete and timely reports, providing significant technical and tactical details. The course is City & Guilds accredited and individuals can gain a recognised professional qualification which can be attributable towards their job role or career development.
A vast amount of evidence is left behind every terrorist incident and wiith the correct training this can be used to:
- Understand the threat
- Become familiar with the components of weapons, explosives, IEDs and the terrorists’ or insurgents’ actions
- Exploit forensic information to identify attack patterns, cut supply chains and capture the perpetrators
The WIT course combines written and practical tests with field-based training exercises. The programme takes up to 18 days to complete depending on the level of depth necessary. The course can be held at a location of your choice including in operational theatres.
In addition, HMS can supply the WIT equipment required for operational deployment.
